Set up your study on Next and advertise it in Panl, a pool of people in the Netherlands who want to take part in academic research. You pay once for the participants you need, and Next pays them for you.
Panl brings researchers and people who want to contribute to research together. Its members get notified of new studies, take part when it suits them and are paid fairly for their time. You set up and run your study on Next, Eyra's research platform, where Panl is built in.
A questionnaire, for example in Qualtrics, set up as a Panl study on Next.
Tells Panl members what your study is about and who can take part.
Members see your study in the Panl marketplace and take part.
You confirm each contribution, and the participant gets paid.
Create a project on Next and add a Panl study item. Everything for your study lives there: its settings, the questionnaire, your participants and their payments.
Colleagues can join as admins of the project, so you can run the study together.
Add a title, your logo and a header image. Write an about page to welcome participants and a consent form they agree to before they start.
Optionally add a privacy statement and a helpdesk page with your contact details. Panl studies are in Dutch, the language of the pool.
Add a questionnaire task and paste the link to your questionnaire, for example in Qualtrics. Next adds a participant ID to the link, and gives you a redirect URL that brings participants back to Next when they're done.
Step-by-step instructions for Qualtrics are right next to the fields.
Your advertisement is what Panl members see in the marketplace. Give it a title and a one-line summary, and explain who can take part, what participants will do and why you are doing this study.
Introduce yourself or your team with a picture, a short description and a link to your website.
Select participants by gender and year of birth. Next shows right away how many people in the Panl pool match your criteria.
Running a follow-up? Exclude people who took part in your earlier studies.
Choose how many participants you need and the fee each of them receives. You pay the participant fees plus the Panl service fee of [X]% in one go, through Online Payment Platform, a Dutch payment provider.
Need more participants later? Pay for extra places whenever you like.

Publish your study and your advertisement. Your study then appears in the Panl marketplace for every member who matches your criteria.
When all paid places are taken, your study shows as fully booked. Add places to continue. Follow the views and clicks of your advertisement as you go.
People join Panl in two short steps. They find your study in the marketplace, read your advertisement, give consent and fill in your questionnaire. Afterwards, their home page shows what they have earned.

Every participant who finishes your study appears under Pending. Confirm all contributions at once, or decline one and tell the participant why.
The Monitor tab shows how many people started and finished, and you can export a progress report.
Confirmed rewards show up on the participant's home page. From €5, they pay out the amount to their own bank account. Online Payment Platform handles the payment securely.
You don't collect bank details or make transfers yourself.
You pay for the participants you need, plus a service fee that keeps Panl running. Panl is non-profit: the fee pays for its development, maintenance and support.
| Participant fee | You choose the amount per participant.Pay fairly: consider the time your study takes. |

| Example | 200 participants × €3.00 = €600plus a service fee of [X]% = €[total] |
Panl was founded in 2020 at VU Amsterdam, with support from the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science through PDI-SSH. Eyra designed and built Panl as part of Next.
